An entrepreneur who has started several publications, including one for homesick Minnesotans (MinnesotaCall), Lee has spent the last several years concentrating on the potential of the Internet to deliver information and solutions. He created and managed two e-commerce Websites offering products that solve problems for people. GrayTimes was a logical next step.

Lee’s career in market research has given him insight into how people look for and process information. His MBA from Columbia University included studies in media management and advertising.

The need to easily and quickly obtain information was personally brought home several years ago, when Lee and his brother had to move their mother from Massachusetts to Minnesota. They needed a memory care facility, and Lee’s brother had to drive around the Twin Cities to try to find the appropriate place. It would have been helpful to have information handy to help narrow down that search. From that frustrating experience, the GrayTimes Elder Care Services Directory was born.

Judith claims she has printer’s ink in her blood, since her grandfather was publisher of a small-town newspaper. Besides being a journalist, she worked for many years in communications on the business side of the Star Tribune in Minneapolis. That experience taught her the importance of presenting information in a way people can easily understand. 

As editor of GrayTimes, Judith is constantly on the lookout for topics and articles that present solutions for seniors or helpful information that can make a difference in their lives.

As the primary caregiver for her elderly parents, she spent much of her time searching for solutions that made their life easier and extended their independence. That background not only gives her empathy for what other families with seniors are going through, it gives her insight into the type of problems families face and the kind of solutions possible.

In addition, she is getting a little gray herself, so her interest in the subjects on GrayTimes is often personal.
